" Meet Me In The Park " - ( I'm On Angel's Wings )

Inspired by the Pentagon Memorial Park Project
In Memory of the 184 Souls lost on 9/11

" Meet Me In The Park "
( I'm On Angel's Wings )

Meet me ... in the park
Linger, for awhile.
Hold me ... in your thoughts
'Til the end ... of all time,

While I fly ... so high
No one ... can see.

* * *

I'm flying, I'm flying ...
I'm ... On Angel's Wings.
I miss you ... I wish you
Could see ... everything.

Heaven's ... before me
All the stars ... have passed by.
I'm flying ... on Angel's wings
To your side !

* * *

Meet me ... in the park
'Neath ... the shade of the trees
On that bench ... near the water,
I'll be the ... breeze.

While I fly ... so high
No one ... can see.

* * *

I'm flying, I'm flying ...
I'm ... On Angel's Wings.
I miss you ... I wish you
Could see ... everything.

Heaven's ... before me
All the stars ... have passed by.
I'm flying ... on Angel's wings
To your side !

* * *

Meet me ... in the park
Linger, for awhile.
Hold me ... in your thoughts
'Til the end ... of all time.

"Unsung HEROES Life" - VIDEO

"Unsung HEROES Life"
( Dedicated to SGT. Sam Nichols, USMC )
And
His loving, dedicated, devoted wife ... Erin

For updates on Sam's condition ... visit ... http://tneria01.wordpress.com/

Based on the moving Epic Story in song, a Tribute to ALL those who serve, have served, and, those who stand behind/beside EVERY soldier ... as we live the " Unsung HEROES Life " ... EVERYDAY !

" Unsung Heroes Life "
( Behind EVERY Soldier )

There he sits ... at a coffee stand
Looks like ... an ordinary man.
There she goes ... in a brand new dress
Just got back ... did her very best.

But, No one knows ... There goes a HERO passing by
No one knows ... the HEROES left behind.

There he sits ... in his faded jeans
He's searching ... for what life ... really means.
He's too young to drink ... now, he has no hands
Looks like a boy ... but, he's such a man!

And, No one knows ... There goes a HERO passing by
No one knows ... This " Unsung HEROES Life " .

There she sits ... in her rocking chair
With her picture book ... and ... his lock of hair.
Another stands ... in a faded dress
A promise kept ... now, laid to rest

And, No one knows ... There goes a HERO passing by
No one knows ... The HEROES left behind.

There he sits ... that's him, in a wheelchair
Parade's over ... folks pass him by, don't know, don't care.
You see ... His medals hang o'er a mantel piece
Near a folded flag ... of a son, of which ... he can barely speak.

And, No one knows ... There goes a HERO passing by
No one knows ... This " Unsung HEROES Life ".

It's 6:00 am ... He's at the gate
A flight to catch ... Can't be late!
Across town ... she's standing strong
As her children cry out ... "WHY'S" Daddy gone?

And, No one knows ... There goes a HERO passing by
No one knows ... The HEROES left ...

" Behind EVERY Soldier "
Every woman & man
There are legions of Angels
All across this land ... Doing battle
Fighting every day
The kids, the job, politics
And, which bills ... We pay with our lives
Die ... In our fears
Some live endless sorrow
Year, after year ... Parade's are over
All your flags ... packed away
But, you'll know US ... by the ribbons
And, yellow bows we still ... Hang onto promise,
Hold ... onto Faith
As we hold out Freedom
To a world ... Away from our loved ones
In a world of our own
We dance ... to the heartbeat
Of this ... " Unsung HEROES " song.

And, No one knows ... There goes a HERO passing by
No one knows ... this " Unsung HEROES " ...
No one knows ... There goes a HERO passing by
No they don't know ... this ...

" NEVER ... NEVER, NEVER Forget ! "

" Reflections Of Your Love "

In remembrance of 9/11, I'd like to share the following Tribute in song,
" Reflections of Your Love " .
After meeting with so many 9/11 family members during and, after our performance for the 5th Anniversary at Ground Zero for the Dedication Ceremony of
"America's 9/11 Victim's Memorial Quilt's" induction into the World Trade Center Museum ...
I was inspired upon returning home, to write the following, moved by the
"Reflections of Your Love" in the eyes of each of the victims and their families.

For the ceremonies, by request, we performed my Tribute songs,
"God Will Prevail - The Victim's Anthem"
And,
The Firefighter Tribute song,
"You Rescued Me"

May we ... " NEVER ... NEVER, NEVER Forget ! "
" Reflections of Your Love "
( Ground Zero )

Reflections ... of ... absence,
Fill ... this place.

Reflections ... on the water
Ripple ... life's grace.

But, I see ... reflections ... of You
In their eyes,

And, I see ... you ... shining
Where you reached ... for the skies;

With ... " Reflections of your Love ! "

I see your face ... I hear your cries ... to be free.
I can feel love ... falling
Shining ... on me,
With ... " Reflections of your Love ! "

I see your face ... I can hear your cries ... to be free.
I can feel the love ... falling
Shining ... sea to sea,
With ... " Reflections of your Love ! "

( Music Interlude )

I see your face ... I can hear your cries ... to be free.
I can feel the love ... falling
Shining ... on me,
With ...
" Reflections of your Love ! "

" Remembering Daniel "

"Sept. 8, 2004 " ... has a dual meaning for me.

As a mom of a soldier, myself ... it's the anniversary date of my youngest son being sworn into the U.S. Army.

Sadly, later, it would become another anniversary date that I would be reminded of the cost of freedom again, as I came to know of another HERO, another one of America's sons, "Best of the Best"... another one "I Can't Forget!"

SGT. James Daniel Faulkner, 23 from Clarksville, Ind. gave his life in service to our nation!
Please, visit Daniel's family's website to read about Daniel, his family, his life, his service & sacrifice.
http://www.ourhometownhero.com/

After I came across the story of Daniel's life & sacrifice, my heart was once again broken, then in July 2006, Daniel's story moved me to song, giving birth to ...

"Her Hometown Heroes" - (Daniel's Song)

" NEVER ... NEVER, NEVER FORGET "

" Freedom ... is .... NEVER Free! "

SGT James Daniel Faulkner was a soldier, a son, a brother, an uncle, a nephew,
a cousin, a fiancée, a best friend, a quiet American boy who bravely
served his country with pride and honor as a member of
20th Engineer Division of the1st Cavalry Division of the United States Army.

" Her Hometown Heroes"
( Daniel's Song )

They were ... young,
But, they ... stood tall.
And, They were ... the BEST ... of us, ALL !

America's sons & daughters,
Husbands, wives ... sisters, brothers
Mothers, Fathers ... from all walks ... of life.

Marching on ... to a Higher call
Our "Hometown Heroes" ... Rise ... Fall,
Paving the way ... to Liberty
Defending ... Freedom's Ring!

( Chorus )

They were ... the BEST
That, she had ... to give!
Our "Hometown Heroes"
Who had barely ... begun ... to live.

When, they heard ... a Higher call
"Her Hometown Heroes" ... Rose up, one & ALL !

They were ... the BEST !
She had ... to give, "Her Hometown Heroes"
And, when ... they heard ... a Higher call
"Her Hometown Heroes" ... Rose again, and gave their ... ALL !

For America's son ...

" My Valley " - ( I Am Home )

I have seen ... my valley,
I've heard ... it's river's flow.
I've walked along ... it's hillsides
High ... and, low.

I've stood upon ... it's mountain,
Gazed ... across this land.
I've felt ... it's gentle breezes
Touched ... God's hand!

Now, I Am Home
I Am Home
This is ... Where I Belong!

I Am Free
Can't You See?
This is ... Where I Belong,

Now, I Am Home!

" The Last Goodbye " - ( Cpl. John Paul Barta ) ........ 'Bye John

Today, Jan. 10, 2007 ... would have been Cpl. John Barta's 26th Birthday.

Instead, one week ago ... John was laid to rest in his hometown of Corpus Christi, Texas.

A HERO, another soldier, another mother's son ... laying down his life in sacrifice for the cause of Freedom ... thousands of miles away from home ... may he NEVER be forgotten.

On Christmas Eve, we recieved notice that a soldier had been lost from our son's company in IRAQ. We knew the family had been notified, so, there was "some" sort of peace for us, but, I also knew ... another mother somewhere ... was recieving tragic news of her son's loss.

We also knew there were probably others who were injured, so, we waited on pins & needles for word on our son.

Then, early Christmas morning ... we got a call from our son, SPC. David Dale, " I'm ok mom."

My prayers were answered, but, my heart ached for the mom recieving the worst news possible.

Our son spoke very little, grieving, in tears. He could not bear to speak of the loss of his good friend, Cpl. John Barta.

I've never heard my son so broken hearted.

Our Christmas was a mixed basket of blessings & prayers ... especially, for the Barta family.

By New Year's Eve, we found the funeral arrangements had been made, John would be laid to rest in his hometown of Corpus Christi, Texas.

Larry & I both felt the need to go, to stand in the gap for our son, as well as, pay our respects as another 1st Cav. family, to this soldier's family.

The next day we flew from Atlanta to Corpus ... spent the evening at the funeral home, sharing our condolences John's wife & family. It was just SO heartbreaking. Soldiers stood guard by John's casket as a video presentation played of photos of John from childhood to adulthood ... ending with ones of him as a soldier, tanker.

By the end, this truly incredible young man had captured my heart, becoming "another son"... another one that "I Can't Forget".

Larry offered his services to the family, offering to echo taps at graveside along with the Army Honor guard ... as a form of appreciation from another 1st Cav. family.

Wednesday morning upon arriving at the First Baptist Church of Corpus Christi, the Patriot Riders had begun arriving early, in anticipation of protesters that might try to disrupt the services & burial of this hero.

The service was beautiful, the video played again, a bagpiper played, veterans paid their respects, John's friends & Pastor's spoke of this incredible young man, an accomplished athlete, student & soldier... excelling in everything he attempted, it seemed.
Hundreds were in attendence to honor this HERO.

I personally knew, and, had expected it to be VERY difficult for me, also ... as I had not been to a military funeral in 36 years, since I lost my cousin in the Vietnam war, back in 1970.

That, coupled with the fears for my own son, I was SO broken, I could not contain my heartache, nor tears ... grieving beyond belief, I was just devasted.

As we headed for the interment, a gentle rain began falling as strong winds blew.

The Patriot Guard Riders lined both sides leading up to the burial site, standing to show their respect, protect the family from possible protestors, each of them holding large American Flags as John's casket was brought forth to his final resting place.

Folks just kept coming at graveside, after a brief service, prayer, gun salute, then echo taps ... hundreds encircled the family, waving flags, as tears fell ... Mrs. Barta was presented the flag from John's casket, then, family & friends sprinkled flowers, soil, and tears upon John's casket, as they said their "Last Goodbye's".

I waited until the end, then, I laid a simple handwritten copy of the lyrics from my song,
"Her Hometown Heroes" upon the top of John's casket, another HERO, as it was lowered.

My heart just sank, seeing this young man laid to rest, his grieving family.

I will NEVER forget him, a brother in arms to my son David, another mother's son ... now, I too, have "another one."

Cpl. John Barta ... a HERO ... indeed!

God Bless you, son ... Rest in Peace.

'Bye John.

" Not another soldier, Lord " - ( Cpl. John Paul Barta ) ... 'Bye John

Jan. 4, 2007 ... Sadly, today's headlines read of another loss, " The Last Goodbye"... in the Corpus Christi newspaper, as Cpl. John Paul Barta was laid to rest yesterday.

Yet, another flag draped coffin, another hero, another mother's son, another soldier I never knew, "Lord, Please ... not another one."

With tears still streaming down my face, as I sit here in the airport ... waiting to head back to Atlanta, after attending the funeral services for Cpl. John Paul Barta in Corpus Christi, Texas ... it never ceases to amaze me, how overcome "I" become with emotion at the loss of another soldier, especially when I'm moved & led to write feelings from my heart & soul, through this "Gift of Song" God's given me.

It's with the deepest heartache, I pen these lyrics, knowing when I return home ... the melody will come, once at my piano.

The loss of this dear soldier, my son's good friend, another of "America's sons", another "son" of mine I never knew, another one ... "Those I Can't Forget".

In Honor of my son's good friend, John - 1st Cav. 1-12 Division of Fort Hood, Texas
